bio

The man behind Clearspeaks is me, the Estonian guy Rannar Sillard, who has been into producing records for about nine years. Back in 1999 I started out with some simple programs to record my first attempts at hip-hop and rap. Moving forward to somewhere around 2002, where trance production kicked off, resulting in a collaboration with Sander Murd called 'Terminal D'. While hitting over 30.000 downloads on mp3.com, the time came to launch the first solo trance project under the 'Rankey' alias. It was not long tho until the next collaboration with Jamie Pirie took place and resulted in the track 'Realm F vs Rankey - Nairobi' which got signed to Discover Recordings. The worldwide known music magazine, Mixmag, rated the track #10 in their December '04 issue charts, and together with the fabulous Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix the record went all the way onto the decks of the biggest trance DJ’s out there, such as Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, John Askew, Above & Beyond, etc.

After this, I thought it was time to try something new and get a wider perspective on music and the art of producing. So I decided to buy some guitars and a microphone, and started recording pop, rock and ambient music under the Clearspeaks alias. I discovered this was so much fun, and the feedback on my new direction was very good so a small EP of nine tracks was completed during one years time.

I found my heart to be in calm chillout music with beautiul melodies. But still I could not keep away from dance music. Thats why I in May 2007, after a remix request, I had to launch the mainstream, funky, electro house project, 'Fingerfunk'. By June 2007 I had also completed two more trance tracks under the 'Mondial' alias, which were signed to the Florida based label 'Ocean Drive Records'. Two months later another, more techy and progressive house project was started together with the estonian DJ, Aims. Going under the alias 'Moshing Idiots', the first two tracks were signed immediately to Quimika Recordings. Stay tuned for updates for Fingerfunk and Moshing Idiots, as these seem as the most interesting projects I'm working on currently!
